Kawa cruises to surprise victory in 5th Damna Adventurers Cycling Challenge

SRINAGAR, June 16: Surprising everyone, senior cyclist Ghulam Rasool Kawa of Khyber Group cruised to victory in the 5th Damna Adventurers Kashmir Cycling Challenge held from Duckpark Foreshore Road to Zaberwan Park Boulevard, here.
The event organized by J&K Sports Development Association (JKSDA) and sponsored by Damna Adventurers, Sopore was flagged off by Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Shailendar Kumar who was the chief guest while as Director Tourism and MD JKTDC Farooq Ahmad Shah was guest of honor.
Among others present on the occasion were CEO Damna Adventurers and JKSDA Treasurer Bashir Ahmad Damna, JKSDA senior members Rauf Ahmad Tramboo, Tariq Rashid Ghani, Altafur Rehman and Reyaz Wani.
In the event around 120 riders that included some top professional cyclists participated. Surprising everyone and proving all the pre event predictions wrong senior cyclist Ghulam Rasool Kawa cruised to victory ahead of Mohammad Adil Teli who finished second. Umer Nabi finished third while as Hilal Sofi finished fourth. Rafiq finished fifth.
In junior category Waheed Ahmad finished first while as Aamir Gujri finished second. Amir Asad finished third while as Parvaiz finished fourth. Suhail finished fifth.
Later prize distribution ceremony was held in which position holders in both senior and Under-17 category were awarded.
