District president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) K. Ranjith has alleged that attempts are on to subvert the investigation in the case of the death of two Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers in an explosion at Chettakkandy near Panur during suspected bomb-making.
In a press release here on Tuesday, Mr. Ranjith said efforts were on to sabotage the case with the held of some police officers.
No arrests
No one had been arrested in the case, he said, adding that the conspiracy behind the explosion was yet to be unearthed.
The probe into the case was being conducted by police officers at the Panur police station loyal to the CPI(M).
Injured
He also alleged that in addition to the two CPI(M) workers injured in the explosion and undergoing treatment, some other party workers who had also sustained injuries in the blast were secretly admitted to hospitals controlled by the CPI(M).
The police should conduct raids on those hospitals to arrest them, he said.
