NOIDA: A 60-year-old man, whose son was murdered last year in Dadri, was shot outside his residence in Greater Noida on Tuesday evening. The shooters also killed his security guard, a constable who had been provided to him by the state government after his son died.
Police said Rajkumar Sharma had been receiving death threats for a long time. A former employee in the state electricity department and a part-time property dealer, Sharma was allegedly killed over a property dispute.

“Prima facie it appears to be a case of personal enmity and property dispute. We have formed teams and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits,” said Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Preetinder Singh.
The murder took place in Junpat village when Sharma and his gunner, Nitin Verma (35), were sitting outside Sharma’s house. Eyewitnesses told police that six assailants came in a white Maruti Swift, stopped in front of the house and opened a dozen rounds of fire on the two.
“They were shot multiple times, and were rushed to a nearby hospital by their neighbours. They were declared brought dead,” another officer said.
“Rajkumar’s son, Narendra Sharma (25), used to assist him in property dealings and was killed over a property dispute as well,” he added.
Senior officers said it is premature to establish the case but they suspect the role of a gang.
“We suspect the involvement of a gang in this murder case, but will zero down only after obtaining sufficient evidence. An FIR has been lodged at the Surajpur police station against the criminals,” an officer said.
