TV tonight: Women's World Cup, 'Rizzoli'
Women's World Cup
Fox, 7 ET/4 PT
Women's soccer makes a rare non-Olympics appearance in broadcast-network primetime with this match between the U.S. and Nigeria. That's the good news for supporters of the sport. The interesting news is that the match is up against ABC's coverage of the sixth game of the NBA Finals (9 ET/6 PT), which means fans of both sports are going to have to choose — at least to the extent they want to see both games live in their entirety.
Rizzoli & Isles
TNT, 9 ET/PT
Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander return as best friends and Boston P.D. crime solvers for the sixth season of a TNT series that ranks as one of cable's most popular. Which, considering how comparatively little attention it gets, may come as a surprise to everyone except the people who have made it one of cable's most popular.
Clipped
TBS, 10 ET/PT
Ashley Tisdale, George Wendt and Mike Castle star in this latest sitcom from Will & Grace's David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, about a group of friends working in a Boston-area barber shop. Then again, if TBS's comedy track record has left you wary, you might prefer to stay with TNT after Rizzoli for Proof, a new drama starring Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine and Joe Morton — or switch to FX for the second-season premiere of Tyrant.
