Three out of six accused in RTI activist Guruprasad Shukla murder at Hardigaura village in Bahraich were arrested by Hardi police on Monday.

BAHRAICH: Three out of six accused in RTI activist Guruprasad Shukla murder at Hardigaura village in Bahraich were arrested by Hardi police on Monday.
The arrested trio was identified as village pradhan Trilokinath, Neeraj and Sushil. Three teams constituted by Bahraich SP Neha Pandey are on the look out for remaining accused. The SP said that village pradhan Trilokinath, Ghanshyam, Vijayshankar, Sushil, Neeraj and Virendra had attacked Shukla with sharp-edged weapons on Friday morning.
Women and other family members were also beaten when they tried to save the activist.
The SP further said that though Hardi station officer was informed about the incident as soon as Shukla was attacked, he failed to take immediate action. Hence, he was suspended, she said.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and UP in-charge Sanjay Singh visited Shukla’s house and consoled the beraved family. Later, talking to reporters, he demanded security for the family and a compensation of Rs 25 lakh.
