A senior citizen residing in the apartment recounted seeing water gushing out of the leaking BWSSB pipe “like in Jog falls”. “When I woke up at 4.30 a.m., I heard and saw water gushing out. This has been the case for the past one week. I did not think much about it, except that it was more than in the previous days,” Dharmadev R, recalled.
“At 8.30 a.m., I heard a huge thud. As I ran out of my flat, I saw a tree fall into the deep pit in the adjoining plot. The compound wall collapsed. Around 10 a.m., the earth in the premises of our apartment complex caved in, causing cracks in the building.”
