Fifty-eight persons, including PRO of a Uttar Pradesh Minister, have been booked on directives of a court for indulging in rioting and damaging private property, the police said on Monday.

An FIR was registered yesterday against 58 people, including Public Relation Officer of State Technical Education Minister Shivkant Ojha, on the court’s directives, they said.

The case was registered at City Police Station on the directives of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ishtiyaq Ali after Bhawana Singh of Dilipur Estate approached the court, the police said.

Ms.Singh in her complaint alleged that Ojha’s PRO Anil Kumar Tripathi and others had entered her house at Bhagwa Chungi on March 13 and not only beaten guard Angad Singh but also damaged the property.

The court had last week ordered police to register an FIR in this connection. - PTI
