Pandit Singh
Also known as Vinod Kumar Singh, Gonda MLA, a Thakur leader loyal to Mulayam Singh. He resigned as MoS for revenue in October 2012 after he was alleged to have barged into the house of Gonda’s chief medical officer at midnight and tried to force him to change a selection list of doctors employed under the National Rural Health Mission. The only Thakur leader seen touching Akhilesh Yadav’s feet in public, he was re-inducted in February 2013 as MoS for Secondary Education. Pandit Singh was earlier MoS for medical education under Mulayam. In a recent controversy, the strongman allegedly abused a youth in Gonda for a Facebook post he found objectionable.He has several criminal cases against him.
Raja Bhaiyya
Or Raghuraj Pratap Singh. He lost his ministerial position after his name figured in an FIR for the murder of DSP Zia-ul-Haq in 2013 at Pratapgarh. A five-term MLA, Raja Bhaiyya cleared a CBI inquiry and later re-inducted. Another tough, he has a royal ancestry and is seen as a rallying point for Thakur leaders in UP. Raja Bhaiyya once had some 45 cases pending against him.

Rajaram Pandey
Minister was sacked over a remark referring the smoothness of Hema Malini’s cheeks. Before that, Pandey had landed in controversy when, during a meeting, he made personal remarks targeted at K Dhanlakshmi, then posted as district magistrate of Sultanpur. Pandey has since died.
Kailash Chaurasia
Minister of state for basic education and child development allegedly threatened a road transport officer, Chunnilal, in Mirzapur. The matter has now reached senior officials after an RTO complaint.
