In a major breakthrough in the murder case of an aged woman that took place in April this year, Sangareddy (Rural) police arrested the accused on Saturday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police P.M. Tirupatanna and Circle Inspector S. Venkatesh told reporters here on Saturday that accused Raziya Begum, a resident of the village, offered P. Narsamma (60) some toddy. She then slit Narsamma’s throat from behind and robbed her of her gold and silver ornaments.

Police said the accused would be soon presented before court.
