N. Srinivasan was re-elected unopposed as the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) at the TNCA’s 85th annual general meeting here on Friday. He has been at the helm since 2002.

As expected, there was no challenger for Srinivasan on the floor of the house.

A majority of the office bearers remained the same too. Among the vice-presidents (Districts), Albert Muralidharan (Thoothukudi) coming in for R. Kanakarajan (Pudukottai) was the only change.

In the executive committee (City), Keshav Sriraman (Young Men’s Association) and C.G. Anandram (Perumbur Club) have been replaced by P. Jayagopal (Madras Indians CC) and Yunus Laila (Youth Centre CC). There were no contests since these changes were agreed upon ahead of the elections.

A rotation policy every year is in place in the formation of Executive Committee (Districts). This time around, Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Tiruvallur, Theni and Vellore found places in the panel.

TNCA joint secretary R.I. Palani said, “The annual meeting lasted nearly 75 minutes and went on smoothly.

There was a unity of purpose among the members.”

He added, “After the annual meeting, the executive committee met. The panel proposed names for the league sub-committee, umpires’ sub-committee, schools and colleges committee and the finance committee.”

A decision on the coaching staff for the Tamil Nadu Ranji trophy side will be taken in the first week of July. The senior selection panel is likely to remain the same.

P.B. Vijayaraghavan & Co. will be the TNCA auditors.
