District adm holds public grievance redressal camp at Surankote

District Administration Poonch today held an ‘Awami darbar’ here at Dak Bunglow   Surankote   to redress public grievances.MLA, Surankote, Ch Mohammad Akram, Deputy Commissioner, Nisar Ahmed Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, ADC, Mohammad Saleem Malik and ACD, Basharat Hussain along with the Executive Engineers of PDD, PMGSY, PHE and I&FC, other district officers, sub-divisional officers of Surankote besides Sarpanches, Panches and locals in large number attended the darbar.Locals raised several developmental issues and other grievances and urged the administration for prompt redressal. Issues pertaining to water and power supply, availability of ration and cooking gas, condition of roads, aforestation, restoration of damaged khuls in recent floods, shortage of staff in sub district hospital, improvement in the functioning of Surankote Municipal Committee, liability under MGNREGA, rehabilitation and resettlement of flood victims, provision of  ration as per 2011 census besides arrangements for the holy month of Ramadhan were discussed in details.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA urged the officers to perform their duty with utmost honesty and impartiality and solve the problems of people on priority. He asked the officers to come up to the expectations of the people by ensuring quality public service. The Deputy Commissioner responded to all the concerns and demands of the people and assured that all their grievances will be addressed and genuine demands met.He took on-spot decisions on some issues and passed on specific instructions to the concerned officers on others. He informed the people that the figures of 2011 census are being adopted and soon all people would be provided ration. Wani assured the people that all issues raised in the darbar will be addressed on priority basis.Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar who also spoke on the occasion appealed people to cooperate with the administration in maintaining law and order.
