Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan to be held on Sunday

HUBBALLI: The fourth Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held at Vishwanath Kalyan Mantap, Vishweshwar Nagar, on Sunday. Retired teacher and convener of Dr D S Karki Vedike, Niranjan Valishettar has been unanimously elected as ‘sarvadhyaksha’ of the event.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Prof. K S Koujalgi, president for Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Hubballi taluk unit, said will be taken in a procession from Mahaveer Circle in Vishveshwar Nagar to the venue on the inaugural day.
The Sammelan will be inaugurated with the hoisting of flag in the presence of mayor Ashwini Majjagi and corporator Ratna Patil. The inaugural function will be attended by president for 81st Akhila Bharat Kannada Sahitya Sammelan Dr Siddalingayya. Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar will preside over the function and MP Pralhad Joshi will release a book on the occasion.
Dr Patil Puttappa will preside over the valedictory function. Manu Baligar will deliver the valedictory speech. Sunanda Kadame, MLCs Basavaraj Horatti, S V Sankanur, Srinivas Mane and Nagaraj Chabbi will be chief guests, said Koujalgi.
