Taylor strikes, Aussies dig in

KINGSTON – Sir Wes Hall’s marquee speech at Tuesday night’s WIPA/WICB annual awards was the motivation Jerome Taylor used to lift his game against Australia at Sabina Park, yesterday.

The 30-year-old fast bowler in his 41st Test match finished the day with figures of three for 18 from 15 overs which included a record six consecutive maidens.

But Australia, sent  in, recovered from 16 for two to end the day on 258 for four, with Steve Smith unbeaten  on 135, adorned with  16 fours and two sixes  off 278 balls.
