Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has once again hinted he is open to replacing David de Gea at Manchester United to fulfil his ambition to play in the Champions League again.

But another key figure at White Hart Lane in Christian Eriksen insists he is in "no big rush" to leave the club, insisting he is excited over what the future holds for Mauricio Pochettino's young squad.

Lloris, 28, heads a shortlist of goalkeepers wanted by United to replace to De Gea, whose prospective move to Real Madrid took a step closer to completion on Wednesday (10 June) following reports in Spain suggesting Iker Casillas has agreed to leave.

The Tottenham goalkeeper was recently quoted as saying he and his representatives are "watchful" of the situation at Old Trafford, and his latest comments suggest he will push for a move should United come calling.

"Dialogue and choices are important but the most important thing is to have the ability to play lots of matches in order to put in the best performance possible and continue to be selected for the national team," Lloris said.

"I assume that the choices come naturally, so I'm staying calm and seeing how things develop.

"This is what everyone wants, and not just because it is the season of the European Championships. It is a goal and a personal ambition.

"The Champions League remains an important competition, the highest level in Europe, so obviously I want to participate and rub shoulders with the biggest European teams.

"I work towards that every day."

Eriksen has provided more reassuring words for Tottenham, however, insisting he remains focused on securing Champions League football with the north London side.

"I feel right at home at Tottenham," Eriksen was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"I haven't thought about leaving yet. I still have three years on my current deal so I'm not in a big rush to leave the club."

"We need to get past that fifth place and break the top four. We might have finished fifth this year but we weren't close to the top four with the games we lost.

"We've a very promising squad with a lot of young players who have done well this season and they will only improve next season. So it will be exciting."
