INDORE: General manager associated with Dewas-Bhopal corridor project was abducted by eight persons and was forced to withdraw money using his ATM. The incident took place on May 27, but the official could muster courage only on June 9 to file a complaint with the police. A case was registered against eight unidentified persons at Bank Press Note police station of Dewas.

Nalin Sharma was heading towards Dewas in his Bolero car which was driven by his driver. Near Jamgod village, his car was intercepted by a Tavera car. Six persons came out and made him and his driver travel for around 200 kilometres at gunpoint, police sources said citing the complaint. They first demanded Rs 20 lakh ransom and later asked for Rs 5 lakh. But on Sharma’s resistance, they took away his gold chain and took him to an ATM where they made him withdraw Rs 10, 000 twice. They fled with the money and fired several rounds in air to scare the manager before leaving them in jungles near Sonkatch. Two more persons had joined the six other accused enroute, added police.
