Tollywood is a great launch pad for newcomers: Abha Singhaal
Abha Singhaal, who was last seen in Dil Deewana, believes that it was her destiny that led her to Tollywood first, before she could find a breakthrough in Bollywood. Its true that everyone would want to work in a language they are most comfortable in; but showbiz is full of surprises. When I got a chance to make my debut in Telugu while trying to find roles in Hindi films, I took it up.
Maybe it was my destiny, Abha smiles. Although her debut film didnt click at the BO, the actress admits she is quite impressed with the film industry. Tollywood is a great launch pad for newcomers and people here are great to work with. Its a huge market. I can understand Telugu to a certain extent now and I am working on learning it, she says.
Born in New Delhi, Abha grew up in Mumbai and had she not got into films, she might very well have been a national-level athlete. I was a very good student and played basketball at the state-level. I think playing sports has helped me stay focused on my job, when I began modeling, Abha reveals. Ask her where she sees herself in future and she says, I understand the nature of my profession and have no illusions that Ill keep acting for the rest of my life. I hope to start a production house or an ad company in future; But now, Ill do everything I can to make a name for myself.
The actress has already signed her next film and will be seen opposite Naveen Chandra in an upcoming film, Racha Rambola. Im playing a the role of a radio-jockey in the film. Ive already shot a song with Naveen for the film and the next schedule will begin soon, she says.
