The newly-opened 100 Feet BBQ lounge, in the De Oriell Boutique Hotel in Kormanagala, serves fine barbeque starters and a buffet with many options. We head to 100 Feet BBQ Lounge to unwind after a hectic day. With its wood panelled, brightly-lit, retro interiors and parquet flooring, the restaurant, spread across two floors, has a soothing ambience. The hotel is also known for its Andhra restaurant, Mirapakai.
A mix of Indian, Pan-Asian and Continental cuisine is served at 100 Feet BBQ Lounge. As we seat ourselves in a comfortable corner, the first thing that catches our eye is that every table has an inbuilt live grill to enhance the dining experience.
The meal starts with a welcome drink, a refreshing mocktail. A total of 11 starters, five non-vegetarian, including sea food, and six to seven vegetarian starters, are promptly served.
Spicy adraki (ginger) paneer is served first. Then comes a generous serving of oriental grilled corn, capsicum and zucchini, followed by pineapple BBQ, which was delicious. The cajun spiced potatoes, a signature dish, topped with garlic mayo, is slightly tangy and melts-in-your mouth. The chermoula prawns are mildly spicy, but the Peshawari chicken, by contrast, is a play of spices. The basil fish is excellent for the fresh fish.
The starters leave us satiated before we proceed to the buffet. There are 10 main course items, including steamed and flavoured rice and five non-vegetarian items, comprising of mutton, chicken, fish and biryani. We take little helping of each and find the food decent, but no match to the starters. However, the deserts — and there are many options to choose from — is quite good. The double ka meetha is a definite must try. The overall experience at 100 Feet BBQ Lounge is fulfilling and worth a visit.
