Ahmed Musa redeems pledge to orphanage

Super Eagles and CSKA forward Ahmed Musa has redeemed his N500, 000 pledge to Divine Wounds Orphanage, Kubwa, Abuja. Musa, who is one of the arrow heads coach Stephen Keshi expects to make mince meat of Chad on Saturday in the Afcon 2017 qualifiers, made good his promise Wednesday and was confirmed by the Nigeria football Federation (NFF) via the Eagles twitter handler @NGSuperEagles.

Musa, who recently sealed a four contract extension with CSKA, a deal that will see him remain with the Russian side until the end of the 2018/19 season, has not only been a must play for the Russian side since joining them initially in 2012 from VVV Venlo, but has equally become a must play for the Super Eagles who are desperate to feature in the next Nations Cup after missing the last in Equatorial Guinea.  The former U-20 and 23 ace has so far made over 49 appearances for the Super Eagles scoring 10 goals in the bargain.

Musa is, however, not the only Eagle identifying with the less privileged as goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama equally donated his match bonus as the team shapes up for the  showdown  with Chad billed for the  Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
