ACB traps land records officer while accepting bribe
BHANDARA: Sleuths of the Bhandara anti-corruption bureau have caught red-handed the deputy superintendent of land records office at Lakhani in his office while accepting a bribe of Rs3,000 on Tuesday. An offence under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered and the officer arrested after the ACB recovered the bribe amount from him.
The complainant had gone to the office of deputy superintendent of land records, Lakhni, Radheshyam Shriram Kshirsagar (32) to apply for suitable change in land records.
His father had purchased a plot at Lakhani and the complainant wanted to include his name in the land records after his father died.
The application had been filed in January 2015 and the complainant met Radheshyam Kshirsagar several times and requested him to do the needful. However, on one or the other pretext Kshirsagar was delaying the work. Finally, on June 2, when the complainant again requested Kshirsagar to deal with his application, Kshisagar asked for Rs3,000 as bride to include his name in the land records.
Since the complainant was unwilling to pay the amount, he approached deputy superintendent of ACB at Bhandara and narrated his story. After lodging a complaint and ascertaining the facts, the ACB laid a trap in the land records office at Lakhani on June 9 and caught the officer red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs3,000.
