The Ferrari FXX K is rare even by Maranello standards. It was designed by Ferrari to be a track only, non-competition, go-fast and handle-well car. Based on the LaFerrari, the FXX K incorporates more technology and fewer regulatory hassles to make an uncompromised sports car.

The FXX K is a hybrid super car with a 6.3 liter V12 engine making 848 hp mated to a 187 hp electric motor for a combined horsepower total of 1,035. The ‘K’ in the name stands for KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) an F1 style system that uses recovered and converted braking energy for acceleration.

Ferrari owns all copies of the car and is only letting selected drivers test them on selected tracks. The FXX K isn’t a competition car so you’ll likely only see it racing other versions of the car.

Youtube user Marchettino was lucky enough to catch four FXX Ks doing laps around Imola together. Put on your headphones or crank up the volume and watch the video to hear a V12-powered quartet.
