Abhishek Kumar (16), son of Jeevan Kumar, of Raja Ka Talab near here drowned in the Dehar khud near the railway bridge at Jawali today. The deceased, a student of plus two in a local school, reportedly left the school along with his two classmates, Rohit and Kailash, after attending some classes.
The trio went to the Dehar khud for taking a bath. He got slipped into deep water while bathing. His classmates immediately swung into action and fished him out. He was rushed to the Community Health Centre, Jawali. The doctors declared him dead in the centre. The body was sent to the Civil Hospital, Nurpur, for the post-mortem examination and a case under Section 174 of the CrPC was registered.
