NEW YORK - Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco was named Major League Soccer player of the week Tuesday for the second week in a row.

He scored in the 34th minute and added the winner in the 83rd minute as Toronto FC beat D.C. United 2-1 last Saturday.

Giovinco is the first player in Toronto FC history to take the honour in consecutive weeks.

The MLS player of the week is selected by journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters group.
