Fresh investments to spur Practo growth

Practo, healthcare technology startup, might see investments to the tune of Rs 400 crore by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner and Google Capita. The investment comes in the wake of the huge success the domestic consumer internet has seen. Existing venture capital investors Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners will also participate in this new round of financing, valuing the Bengaluru-based Practo Technologies at around Rs 2,000 crore.

Practo, healthcare technology startup, might see investments to the tune of Rs 400 crore by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner and Google Capita. The investment comes in the wake of the huge success the domestic consumer internet has seen.  Existing venture capital investors Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners will also participate in this new round of financing, valuing the Bengaluru-based Practo Technologies at around Rs 2,000 crore.

Practo which was founded in 2008 by Shashank N D and Abhinav Lal, the fresh investments will also see some amount of secondary transactions.  Practo, which recently acquired Fitho Wellness, fitness management app is looking to become an end-to-end healthcare platform which will let consumers discover doctors, book appointments and get consultation online.

This will be Milner's third personal investment in an Indian tech startup after having placed bets on taxi-aggregator startup Ola and realty portal Housing last year. As for Google Capital, which is in the process of setting up an India office in Bengaluru, the investment in Practo follows the ones made in Freshdesk, a cloud-based customer support software, and realty portal Commonfloor.
