SURAT: Some parts of Tapi district including Vyara and Dolvan and Ahwa in Dang districts received rainfall on Monday afternoon.
While rains continued for less than half an hour in Vyara and Dolvan, Dang received a fair amount of rains for about two hours.
Places like Ahwa, Subir, Waghai, Saputara, Sagbara too received fair amount of rainfall throwing normal life out of gear.

According to the weather department, the rains in the region were under the influence of cyclonic storm building up in the Arabian Sea.
Ranjith Kumar, district collector, Tapi said, "Only Vyara and Dolvan received rains for some 20 minutes and the sky are still overcast. We can expect more rains."
Sources said that the district administration has asked its officials to monitor the state highway from Ahwa to Saputara for the incidents of tree uprooting.
Weather in other districts in south Gujarat like Valsad and Navsari remained overcast on Monday, but there were no traces of rains. However, Vansda taluka in Navsari district received some rains.
