MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau has filed an FIR against senior NCP and former Maharshtra PWD Minister Chaggan Bhujbal in connection with a corruption case involving kick backs from contractors.

Bhujbal and five PWD officials have been booked under various sections of the Anti Corruption Act. The former PWD minister has been facing a slew of allegations of corruptions against him during his tenure as PWD Minister.

Some of the complaints pertain to the construction of Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi for which he is alleged to have got a kick back worth crores. Both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP had filed PIL’s against Bhujbal in the Bombay High Court.

The Bombay High Court had in May after perusing an ACB report said that there was prima facie case against the former Minister and gave a go ahead to the ACB to file an FIR against him if there was enough material. The AAP had claimed that contractors who PWD contracts when Bhujbal was in power had deposited money in companies that were controlled by Bhujbal and his family.
