Trees, cars set alight in spate of arson attacks across Tuggeranong

Cars and trees were set alight across Tuggeranong early Monday morning as part of a spate of arson attacks in the region.

Police say fires were lit at 10 locations in Richardson, Calwell and Isabella Plains between 2.30am and 5am.

ACT Fire and Rescue originally responded to reports of trees and bushes on fire. Cars, buckets and tarpaulins were among property also set alight.

Police say a tree was extinguished outside the Richardson shops. Firefighters doused random property set alight on Prichard Circuit and Leaky Place in Richardson; Downard Street, Outtrim Avenue and Costello Circuit in Calwell; and Hadleigh Circuit in Isabella Plains.

An ACT Policing spokeswoman said investigations were ongoing and police were getting CCTV footage from nearby businesses.
