The play spoke about why Lala Hardol is considered a God figure in the folk culture, and throws light on his place in history.
The drama began with Lala leaving for Orchha, where his stepbrothers
Jagir Singh and
Pahadh Singh stay. Since Jagir is happy with Lala’s deeds, he gives half his property to him, and also asks him to be the caretaker of his own wealth. This makes Pahadh angry, and plans an attack on Orchha with the help of Shahjahan.
The play highlighted the culture of Bundelkhand, with the actors even speaking in that slang. The sets, costumes and lights were used perfectly to reflect the
Bundeli culture.
