Delhi youth dies in raft mishap

A youth hailing from Delhi drowned in River Beas at Bhunter in Kullu district on Saturday when a raft carrying four persons upturned in the middle of the river.

The tourist identified as Ashu Kumar, 24, had come to Kullu-Manali with his friends and was rafting in Beas when the incident took place.

The police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC against the Nepali raft guide who is absconding. The other occupants of the boat have sustained injuries and have been admitted in the local hospital.
