Cremation ground lacks road facility in Surankote

POONCH, June 6: Various Hindu and Sikh organizations held a meeting at Surankote and demanded construction of pathway or road facility to cremation ground Surankote which was washed away in the flash flood of September 2014.
The meeting was chaired by Khushdev Verma, president Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Surankote.
Speakers strongly condemned the district administration for its failure to repair pathway to the cremation ground and to vacate the land of cremation ground which is illegally occupied by some locals.
The members said that they have to cross river and agricultural land to reach cremation ground by facing troubles en-route to the cremation ground.
Lokesh Dutt, head of Gurunivas Guru Gadhi said that the land belonged to the cremation ground has been illegally grabbed by some locals and district administration should take initiative to construct pathway or road to the cremation ground to mitigate the problems being faced by the community especially when any cremation take place.
The meeting was also addressed by Rajinder Singh, Ramesh Bali, Anil Kumar, Raju, Manjeet Sharma, Bal Krishan, Sanjeev Sharma and Rakesh Kumar.
