Rajesh Khera has been missing from the small screen for a while, but now, the actor will be seen in a few episodes of 'Akbar Birbal'. Rajesh was last seen playing a eunuch in 'Uttaran' and was even supposed to play Betaal in 'Sinhasan Battisi', but had to opt out on medical grounds. However, he will now be playing a historical character, and that too for the first time, on the show.
“I will be playing Mirza Hakim, Akbar’s step-brother, who is jealous of his brother.
He keeps conspiring against his brother, who loves him and keeps forgiving him. This is the first time I am playing a historical character and since it’s also comedy, the idea is to go a little overboard. I have to look royal and I am playing a Mughal. There are actors like Kiku Sharda and Delnaaz on the show who are brilliant, so it’s been quite fun on the sets,” he said.

Khera said that during the shoot, he ended up hurting himself. “I will be shown wearing an artificial hand on the show and many a times, I ended up hurting myself because I would forget about the artificial hand. I would clap and end up getting hurt,” he added.
