Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Saturday said the process for establishment of good governance and making it fair and accountable has already begun in the state.

Interacting with prominent political and civil society members of Rajouri district, Mufti said, "The process of transforming the system of governance in the state has already begun so that it is made fair and accountable."

The Chief Minister complimented the people for voting overwhelmingly for change in Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to developmental issues raised by civil society members, the Chief Minister announced Rs 50 lakh for creation of a Transformer Bank in the district to meet urgent public demands.

For the development of sports fields, he announced Rs 50 lakh for each of the four constituencies of the district and also declared release of balance funds for completion of Community Hall in Rajouri, which has been a long pending demand of the people.

Mufti also assured that Mankote Park, which has been developed by the state's tourism department over 100 kanals, will be maintained round-the-year to facilitate visitors.

Placing high priority on road connectivity, the Chief Minister said that Mughal Road, which connects Pir Panjal with Kashmir Valley, will be developed as an alternate national highway.

"We are also exploring the option of constructing tunnels to make the Mughal Road an all-weather one," he said.

Mufti said that he has taken up the issue of expediting the process of making Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in four-lane as well as improvement of the stretch of the road from Thana Mandi to Buffliaz with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
