ALMOST five years after former Indian prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s announcement of India’s Torana Gate gift to Malaysia to mark the launch of Kuala Lumpur’s Little India in Brickfields, work will finally start on the massive stone pillars by month’s end.

And if everything proceeds according to plan, Indian prime minister Narendra Modi will jointly launch the Torana Gate with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when the former attends the Asean Summit in November.
