LAHDC signs MoU for Ladakh’s development

LEH: The Ladakh Hill Development Council (LAHDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a public sector undertaking, WAPCOS Ltd, to seek advice for development of the Ladakh region.

The Ladakh Hill Development Council (LAHDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a public sector undertaking, WAPCOS Ltd, to seek advice for development of the Ladakh region.

Council CEC Rigzin Spalbar and CMD WAPCOS Ltd K Gupta signed the documents.

Executive councillors for agriculture Sonam Dorjey, health Dr Sonam Wangchuk and tourism Mohammad Shafi Lasu, Leh Deputy Commissioner Saugat Biswas, Director, LREDA, Jigmet Takpa, Leh ADC RK Badyal, members of WAPCOS Ltd, executive engineers headed by Superintending Engineer, PWD, SR Dogra and heads of various departments were also present on the occasion.

Spalbar said the region needed special treatment keeping in view its geographical condition. Talking about the importance of implementation of the Vision Document, he said signing a MoU with WAPCOS Ltd was one step further in fulfilling the achievements enshrined in the Vision Document. — OC
