Nearly 600 people joined the fourth edition of Cycle2Work to popularize cycling as a routine activity. Around 6.45am, the enthusiasts gathered at seven starting points across the city like Goregaon Sports Club, Vashi and Sanjay Gandhi National Park and set off on a nearly two-and-a-half-hour ride that concluded at a hotel in BKC.

"The immense turnout was overwhelming and the gloomy weather worked in our favour," said Firoza Suresh, founder of Cycle2Work. The event was supported by environment minister Ramdas Kadam, who turned up to encourage the participants.
Outside Mulund station, the NGO Vithai Pratishtha staged a street play on the themes of global warming and tree plantation .
