Monrovia — Contrary to claims by state prosecutors of his role in an alleged US$6m scandal former Forestry Development Authority boss Moses Wogbeh continues to deny any involvement in the issuance of illegal Private Use Permits (PUP) to several logging companies against the Forest and Community Rights Law that government claims it loss millions in revenue generation.
Defendant Wogbeh who is standing trial with four other former officials of FDA on multiple offenses including economic sabotage told the court Thursday when he took the witness stand that he does not approve PUP but rather PUPs are approved by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA). "The Chairman of the Board of Directors of FDA approves the issuance of the Private Use Permits (PUP) not me" said Wogbeh when he took the witness stand Thursday as the defense counsel first witness.
