SHAH ALAM: Corporate and commercial users of water here can now monitor, check and get the latest information on the status of their bills and payments made on-line.
This follows the launching today of Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) upgraded and revamped online, web-based application system, eBiz.
Syabas chief operating officer Datuk Lee Miang Koi said the system targets corporate companies with more than 10 water bills' payment accounts or bills amounting to more than RM50,000 a month.
The eBiz system simplifies the process of making bulk payments of bills and makes it easier for users to determine the amount of water they use, he told reporters after launching the online application system here.
Lee said eBiz was first introduced in 2005 and has since been upgraded and revamped based on the feedback and inputs of clients.
To date, a total of 46 corporate, industry and commercial clients, involving over 7,000 water bill accounts, have subscribed for the service, with more expected to register in future.
"The system has seen so much improvements since it was first introduced, and questions of whether it is secure or not, I can assure you that it is," he said.
Lee said payments using the eBiz system can be made through three different methods - wire cheque, wire online and wire telegraphic transfer.
On whether the eBiz will be opened to domestic users in future, Lee said at the moment it was only for businesses and companies.
However, he said they always encouraged consumers to pay online and that was why they have many different options like JomPAY system where payments could be made through banks.
