GURGAON: The general manager of the
HUDA Gymkhana Club, Sector 29, has been booked for allegedly submitting fake documents at the time of his appointment in the club. He stopped going to work after an FIR was lodged against him on Tuesday.
Police said Ankit Lamba, a resident of Sector 23, had submitted his purported academic certificates at the time of joining HUDA in 2012.
The certificates also included
an MBA degree.
About two months ago, the club manager filed a complaint with HUDA administrator Anita Yadav, alleging that Lamba had submitted forged documents at the time of his appointment.
During an internal departmental inquiry, the allegations were found to be true and accordingly the administrator suggested filing of a police complaint against Lamba.
Subsequently, the HUDA estate officer filed a complaint with a covering letter at the Sector 29 police station.
Lamba has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of the IPC.
"We have lodged an FIR as per the complaint. Lamba, who is absconding, will be arrested soon," said inspector Ashok Kumar, SHO, Sector 29 police station.
