Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has reaffirmed its support to Qatar’s journey towards the development of local, regional, and international medical sectors as the Development Partner of the recently-held Qatar International Medical Conference 2015.
QDB CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said, “It is a great honour to be the Development Partner of the conference, which is an important beginning for many of the great achievements in healthcare, such as the development of centres, equipment, and staff.
“Our presence as a partner for this important event shows how much QDB cares about being the first supporter of national development in all sectors in order to build a better future for Qatar and the Qatari society.”
As Development Partner of the conference, held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, al-Khalifa said QDB “seeks to always be the first initiator of development and providing assistance.”
“Being part of this important event is a clear indicator of QDB’s constant readiness to provide the support that Qatari communities need,” he said.
During the event, QDB Projects Finance director Hamad bin Dashin al-Qahtani highlighted QDB’s programmes and services related to the healthcare sector.
He stressed that the bank aims to align its financing objectives for private health service providers with those of the Supreme Council of Health and the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar.
“QDB will look at providing support services where funding ratio is either up to 70% of the total project cost or up to 80% of core business-related equipment, in addition to providing excellent facilities in order to stimulate entrepreneurs and SMEs by giving loans that have a maximum tenor of 15 years, including a grace period reaching up to three years,” al-Qahtani said.
In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, al-Khalifa said QDB provides various support and assistance “to all possible areas to raise the profile of Qatar.”
“From this perspective, QDB has numerous programmes and services that develop various sectors, stimulate entrepreneurs, help SMEs launch projects successfully, and ensure their entry into local and international markets,” he added.
