Coast Guard sources said the tug was on its way from Karaikal to Chennai when it developed snag, which could not be rectified immediately last night. The tug was having a 12-member crew and they are safe. The coast guard officials inspected the vehicle and made enquiries with the crew. The CG also ruled out the possibility of any oil spillage from the tug. The crew members are confident that the snag will be rectified within a couple of days and they can continue with the journey to reach their destination, Chennai.
