In January this year, Habra boy Barshan Seal picked the best actor award for Nabalok one of the three stories of Teenkahon at North Carolina State's Global Film Festival 2015.
And now, keeping the winning streak going, Nabalok has won the Special Mention of the Jury at 14th ImagineIndia International Film Festival in Madrid. Curiously, the day the awards were announced, director Bauddhayan Mukherji was busy lifting four more statuettes at the Navi Mumbai International Film Festival.
I had gone to Madrid when the film was screened but couldn't stay back for the awards night," said Bauddhayan, who was busy attending the festival in Mumbai on May 31.

While Ashish Vidyarthi got the best actor's award at the Navi Mumbai International Film Festival, Barshan was adjudged the best child artist. Avik Mukhopadhyay won the best cinematography award, his fourth for the film; the others coming from Kosovo and Jakarta, and last but not the least, Teenkahon also picked the best feature film runner-up award at the festival. I was attending the festival in Mumbai, when the news of the Madrid award reached my ears. I ushered in my birthday on June 1 with five awards from two festivals in one night," he said. The director, who is happy with his festival wins, is currently working out the modalities of a pan-India and worldwide release of his movie. Meanwhile, Bauddhayan is also busy with the post-production of The Violin Player starring Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead. We are two weeks away from completion of that film," said the director.
