The Bharat Gold Mines Employees Union (BGMEU) affiliated to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) will stage a ‘dharna’ at Ooorgaum Circle in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) on Thursday.

Revival of BGMl mining activities either by Centre or State Government is the main demand of the Union, CITU leader K. Tangaraj said.

Allotment of the BGML colony houses to the former workers of the company was another major demand, he added.

The State government will be urged during the stir to rollback its decision to hike fees of professional courses including medical and engineering as it will affect the prospects of poor students, Mr. Tangaraj told The Hindu .
