Crowds throng gurupuja of Swami Sitthananda

Hundreds of devotees participated at the special prayers on the occasion of 178th Gurupuja of Swami Sitthananda on Friday.

Special abishekams

From Thursday, special abishekams and prayers were performed at the sanctum of temple erected on the samadhi of Swami Sitthananda. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Speaker V. Sabapathy and Inspector General of Police Praveer Ranjan, were among those who offered prayers.

Mr. Rangasamy inaugurated the annadhanam, at Fathima Higher Secondary School’s playground in the presence of Speaker Mr. Sabapathy and MLAs who helped arrange the programme. More than 10,000 people were served the meal.

Devotees recited Tamil scriptures such as Thiruvasagam and Devaram in praise of Lord Shiva.
