Woman murdered, police suspect husband

A lecturer Manjula (25) was stabbed to death while her 60-year-old mother Kalavati sustained serious injuries when two unknown assailants attacked them at their house in Tappachabutra on Monday. According to the police, Manjula was living in Vishveshwarnagar in Karwan along with her four-year-old daughter. Her husband, Yeshwanth, was unemployed and often quarrelled with his wife. Police suspect Yeshwanth to be behind the attack.

Fake note racket busted

Yet another counterfeit currency racket linked to Malda in West Bengal was busted by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South) team on Monday with the arrest of four persons. Fake currency with a face value of Rs. 6.97 lakh, a motorcycle and six mobile phones were seized from them.

Two electrocuted

Two persons, including a BJP worker, were electrocuted at Vanasthalipuram on Monday. According to the police, Sandeep Reddy (25) and his friend Kashi Reddy (25) were making preparations for the Formation Day. “They were trying to remove an iron flag post when it came in contact with overhead power lines resulting in their electrocution,” Vanasthalipuram SI S. Devender said.

Two killed in accident

Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries when a Skoda car rammed a jeep at Rajendranagar on Monday.
