Partha Sen, who has earned rave reviews for Anubroto Bhalo Acho??, is reportedly busy planning his next a romantic thriller starring Abir Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee and Sohini Sarkar in the lead.
When CT asked the director about the film, he was not too willing to divulge the details as he is still developing the story. The film is about a middle-aged married filmmaker, whose past suddenly returns to haunt him. His wife calmly watches everything as she had done in the past.
This passionate romantic thriller mainly revolves around these three people (the filmmaker, his wife and his past), but a missing person also plays a very important role in the film. But I can't disclose how that character comes into the story . Fifty per cent of the film will be shot at night on the streets of Kolkata," Partha said.
Speaking about the cast, he said, If all goes well, Abir will play the filmmaker, Swastika his wife, and Sohini, a choreographer, would be the past. I had a talk with Abir and Sohini, but they are yet to hear the final script. Abir is just perfect as a filmmaker as he has that aura about him and I wanted someone like Kangana Ranaut to play the choreographer's role and I find that in Sohini. And Swastika is a director's delight. She can transform into anything, any time! I couldn't speak to her, as I know she is going through a bad time, having lost her mother. The wife's character has many shades and I'm sure she will do perfect justice to it, if she gives her nod. I am yet to finalize who'll play the missing person. Soumik Halder is the DoP, as I'm blind without him."
Abir, who had worked with the director in a serial long back, said, I share a great rapport with Parthada. I heard the script and liked it, but I'm yet to go through the final draft."
Sohini, too, had worked with the director in a telefilm way back in 2007. Parthada has approached me for the film and I found the story quite interesting. My character is of a bubbly choreographer. But I am yet to hear the final script," she said.
The director said he planned to go on the floors with the film in August, after the release of Anubroto Bhalo Acho?.
