Haridwar, May 31

Yoga guru Ramdev was today cornered by a section of the saint community for the Padartha Herbal Food Park violence that claimed the life of a transporters’ union representative on May 27.

Ramdev has also been compared with Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Rampal for misleading his followers by training them through a ‘commando type outfit’ for vested interests, which is posing threat to those who raise voice against him and Patanjali Yogpeeth management.

Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samaj president Acharya Pramod Krishnam Maharaj, who announced aid of Rs one lakh to the deceased Daljeet Singh’s family members, said the family of the deceased is still in fear as pressure is being mounted on them to withdraw the case filed against Ramdev’s brother Ram Bharat and Padartha Herbal Food Park security guards.

“When I met the deceased family members today at Aithal village, they all were in fear of Ramdev’s black outfit security guards — given the name Bharat Swabhiman Raksha Dal. A saint hiring such a large number of aggressive people, training them and equipping them with rifles, rods and sticks is almost similar to the cases of Bhindranwale and Rampal. This outfit is a threat to the social fabric. Ramdev is already being provided Z+ security cover with CISF personnel guarding him. What’s the need to come up with an Army-type outfit while one calls himself a swami or seer?” questioned Acharya Pramod Krishnam.

Questioning the police for filing a complaint almost 12 hours later against Ram Bharat, Krishnam termed the brutal killing of Daljeet as a blatant example of the tyrant attitude of Ramdev, his brothers, close aides and security guards.

“Such a fanatic attitude leads to separatism and eventually, extremism or terrorism too. Padartha Food Park, which is aided by central grant, has now been turned into a private property of Swami Ramdev and his close aides. It’s meant for public benefit, not for settling personal scores,” said Krishnam.

National spokesperson for the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Baba Hatyogi, raised the question of disappearance of Ramdev’s guru, alleging that Ramdev has built up establishments through improper channel.

Baba Hatyogi and Swami Kalyan Dev Maharaj demanded filing of a case against Ramdev and Balkrishan for conniving in the murder of Daljeet Singh.

Congmen protest against Ramdev

dehradun: Agitating Congress activists took out a two-wheeler rally in protest against firing by associates of yoga guru Baba Ramdev in Haridwar two days ago in which one person was killed here today. They demanded that state government should take effective steps to tighten the noose around him.

Agitating Congressmen gathered at Dilaram Chowk and took out a two-wheeler protest rally that passed through Ashley Hall, Clock Tower, Panchayati Mandir and culminated at the district headquarters campus.

The protesters submitted to District Magistrate Ravinath Raman a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Harish Rawat.

Expressing his views, Amarjeet Singh, patron, IT cell of Pradesh Congress Committee, has said a man had lost his life and six others were injured in a violent clash at Food Park of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, two days ago. He demanded a fair inquiry in this matter.

Meanwhile, in a press note issued by Kendriya Shri Guru Singh Sabha vice president, Sardar Harpal Singh Sethi, he has stated that a delegation of the sabha will visit Food Park, Haridwar, to gauge the situation. He said a report would be tabled and would be circulated to the Singh Sabha of the country.
