A Galway woman is to meet the Armenian man who received her charity shoebox 16 years ago.
Claire Fahy was contacted on Facebook by Arsen Khachatryan earlier this week.
He sent her a message saying that he had "always wanted to express my gratitude" for the shoebox.
Mr Khachatryan also attached a photograph of a letter Claire had enclosed in the box in 1999.
The story has attracted a lot of coverage in the media.
The charity, Team Hope Ireland, says "it's an amazing example of the impact Shoebox gifts can have".
It is arranging for Claire and Arsen to meet in person later this year.
