Govt to write letter to UAE on Axact scam: Ch. Nisar

Islamabad - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said that PML-N had not rigged general elections 2013 and all the balloting process was held in free and fair manner.
He said the than caretaker set-up formed by Najam Sethi was full with opponents of N-League and in this situation holding of rigging were out of question. “How it was possible for PML-N to favour its candidates in a caretaker set-up under the supervision of Najam Sethi, an arch rival of Nawaz League,” he added. The minister expressed these views while addressing a press conference held at Baithak Chakbeli Khan after allocating funds worth Rs7.5 billion for renovation of roads in the locality and constructions of five new dams. He was flanked by a large numbers of N-League office-bearers, including MPA Umer Farooq. Chaudhry Nisar said that PML-N believed in politics of principles.
On Axact issue, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the government had decided to write a letter to UAE in connection with Axact scam after a similar letter had already been written to UK.
He said that investigation into Axact scam was moving ahead on fast track, more evidence had been unearthed and further FIRs would be registered in the case. “The scandal had an international background,” he said. Nisar endorsed that a formal letter had been written to Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) seeking its legal assistance in this case and on the request of FIA, a letter had also been written to UK Home Office.
A lot of information is also being sought from Interpol. He said that BOL TV channel was granted licence by interim government and not the incumbent government. He said the matter was being investigated and responsible would be punished as per law.
About war against terrorism, the minister said the government had broken the backbone of terrorists by launching Operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said that no one would be allowed to use Pakistani soil for terrorism. He said the government would not sit peacefully until complete elimination of terrorists from the country.  About MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq murder case, he said a procedure had been devised with UK in connection with case and both the countries would increase cooperation in future.
He said the government was focusing to bring back Layari gang leader Uzair Baloch in Pakistan and no one would be allowed to flee.
To a query about PTI’s intra-party elections, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said it was PTI’s internal matter and he would not comment on it.
