A brand on the ‘hit list’

May 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The theft of a Bajaj Pulsar motorbike these days has the Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police immediately swinging into alert mode.

“Chain-snatchers prefer Pulsar bikes and so whenever there is a Pulsar theft reported, we are on alert,” says Shefeen Ahamed K., Superintendent of Police (Thiruvananthapuram Rural). Around 99 per cent of motorbikes used by chain-snatchers are Pulsar. Pulsar owners, therefore, should be extra cautious.

Investigation into a Pulsar theft from Kalliyode in Nedumangad led to the arrest of two offenders, Mr. Ahamed said.

Nizam and Muneer, wanted for several crimes, were nabbed from Ernakulam and Kannur respectively after they fled on the bike from the house of Sunil Raj of Kalliyode.
