Telangana Minister for Commercial Taxes has requested all political parties, students of Osmania University and Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) to come together with the government in celebrating the first anniversary of State formation on June 2 and not to think about staging any protest.
Speaking after a review meeting held on the arrangements being made for June 2 here on Friday, he offered an olive branch to OU students, who are stoutly opposing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to construct houses for the poor on 11 acres land belonging to the university. He asked the students to talk to the Chief Minister and resolve issues, if any, instead of staging protest. He also suggested that TJAC not organise separate celebrations and instead be part of the government fete.
