NGCP: 10-hr power interruption in Leyte,  Biliran Island Sunday

A power interruption lasting up to 10 hours is scheduled in parts of Leyte and Biliran on Sunday, May 31, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

In its advisory Thursday, the NGCP said the interruption from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. will affect:

The NGCP said the interruption is due to the synchronized shutdown of the 100-megavolt Transformer 5 at Ormoc substation and 69-kilovolt Milagro-Lemon-Biliran-Tunga-Palo and Milagro-Ormoc-Baybay lines, "to facilitate annual preventive maintenance" on the transformer and maintenance works. —  Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
